Pendulums are beautiful and mysterious artifacts that have been long utilized and admired for thousands of years throughout history. If you are on the magical side and want to learn more about how to use a pendulum, then here is a guide to help you with your mission.
Step 1: Get Your Mind Ready
Before starting anything, make sure that your mind is clear, relaxed, and focused. Remove any distractions that could take away from your mindfulness. Sometimes lighting candles and playing non-vocal music helps.
Step 2: Position Yourself and Your Pendulum
Sit up straight and keep both feet flat on the floor. Then you will want to grasp the pendulum in-between your thumb and forefinger while keeping your wrist arched. Make sure that your forearm is steady and then just let the pendulum dangle.
Step 3: Program Your Pendulum's Signals
If this is your first time doing this, then you will need to program the signals for the yes and no answers on the board. You can do this by asking sample questions that you know the answer to already and seeing if the pendulum is accurate. A sample question would be “Is my name _____?” or “Is today Saturday?” Position the pendulum board so that your yes and no answers align to the yes and no answers on the pendulum board.
Step 4: Program Your Source
This is where you will want to call upon your pendulum source to establish where you will be getting your answers from and ensuring that your pendulum is not using your subconscious mind. Either out loud or in your head, say the following: "I call upon the higher self to answer these questions. I seek only truthful answers, which are aligned with the highest and greatest good for all concerned."
Step 5: Ask Your Questions and Wait for The Answer
Now, you are ready to ask your questions. Each question should be a yes or no answer and be as specific as possible. Do not ask opinion related questions either. Once you ask a question, be patient, concentrate on your question, and do not think about what the answer should be. Stay detached and focus on wanting the correct answer. When the pendulum swings, watch where it goes to receive your verdict. For reference, if the pendulum swings rigorously, it is a loud response, and if slow, it is a quicker one.
Step 6: Clear the Pendulum
When you are finished with your session or are ready to ask another question, you will want to clear your pendulum. You can do this by touching the stone to the palm of your hand as a way to signal you are ready to move on.
